30 November 2001: "A Belgian network for women in science and technology", foundation meeting for BeWise , Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBIN), Brussels

2002

22 October 2002: Second BeWiSe meeting, on the situation of women in science and stimulating the exchange of personal experiences of women. For more information and abstracts of the presentations, click here.

2003

4 March 2003: Family Day at the Museum Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBIN), Brussels. Members and their families gathered at the Museum for a guided tour of the exhibition “Dig a Dino”.

2005

2006

14 November 2006: Training: “Time management and the balance between a career in research and family”, Royal Belgian Museum of Natural Sciences, Brussels

21 November 2006: the president of BeWiSe represents the association at the first network event of the European Platform of Women Scientists (EPWS), Brussels

2007

6 February 2007: BeWiSe is represented at the project meeting of GAPP “Gender Awareness Participation Process: differences in the choice of science careers”.

27-28 April 2007: BeWiSe is represented at the first general assembly of EPWS.

12 June 2007: General Assembly of BeWise, Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBIN), Brussels and Conference “Stem cells, Hype and Politics”.

2008

Early 2008: Three-days training workshops: Enhance your potential. In collaboration with  the European Platform of Women Scientists (EPWS) and Institut pour l'égalité des Femmes et des Hommes - Instituut voor de Gelijkheid van Vrouwen en Mannen:

11 June 2009: BeWiSe General Assembly: Women and Evolution.
BeWiSe celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin by organizing its General Assembly around the theme  “Women and Evolution”. The achievements of the association during the past year and the future activities planned were presented, followed by a talk on “Women and Evolution” presented by the author of the book “Darwin voor dames”, Griet Vandermassen, Philosopher at the Ghent University.

On top of all these events, the steering committee meets regularly to discuss management of the association, diffusion and advocacy, participation in other activities and networks, and organisation of events and activities.
